Chester recorded another victory with a 2-1 success at Washington. Chester had the better of the first half but didn’t find the net. After 10 minutes, Washington came close to taking the lead when they made a break down the right and sent over a cross to the far post where Daniel Robinson was waiting but he put his header wide of the post from close range. The following minute, a ball into the Washington area was only cleared to Owen Henderson but his well-struck shot from 20 yards was deflected over the bar. Chester dominated the possession in the second half but failed to press home their advantage. They finally broke the deadlock after 71 minutes when Cameron Nichol received the ball on the right. He initially lost possession but he quickly recovered the ball, raced to the by-line and crossed for Andrew Clarkson to bundle the ball home. Washington equalised after 78 minutes when Daniel Robinson found some space inside the area to fire in. Chester should have regained the lead after 80 minutes when Nichol broke clear but with just the keeper to beat he put his shot wide of the target. Chester regained the lead after 87 minutes when they broke down the left and the ball was crossed into the middle for Kieran Megran to score. Another good result from a decent performance.
