Chester made it three wins from three after a comfortable 3-1 win over Esh Winning. They took the lead after 8 minutes when a long ball was sent down the middle for Andrew Clarkson to collect and he fired in a great shot from the edge of the area which went over the keeper into the top of the net. Esh came close to an equaliser after 20 minutes when the ball was played over from the left and it found Nicholas Marley in space but he was stopped from scoring by a great block from Connor Lyon. Chester should have increased their lead after 39 minutes. A highball was played into the Esh area and was missed by the keeper. It fell to Cameron Nichol but instead of hitting it first time into what was an empty net, he was forced wide by a defender and his shot came back off the post and was cleared. Chester came close to a second goal after 55 minutes when the ball was played down the left to Nichol who cut into the box to fire in a shot which the keeper managed to tip over the bar. After 64 minutes Clarkson received the ball just inside the Esh area and turned well to fire in a shot which brought a good save from the keeper. Esh came close again after 74 minutes when Sean Johnson got the ball on the edge of the area, turned well to fire a shot towards goal. It deflected off Lyon and Jack Wilson had to make a tremendous reflex save to prevent it going into the top corner. After 82 minutes, Reece Brown made ground down the left and his cross-cum-shot nearly caught Wilson out but he reacted quickly to tip the ball over the bar. Chester doubled their lead a minute later when a long clearance was chased down by Nichol and he lifted the ball over the keeper into the net. Esh reduced the deficit after 86 minutes when Jacob McKellar raced down the right into the box and fired across goal into the far corner. Chester responded immediately when some good play down the right ended with Christopher Stephenson pulling the ball back for Michael Hepplewhite to fire home.
