Chester crashed to another defeat going down 3-1 at Heaton Stannington. Chester came close to taking the lead in the first minute when Craig Marron played a free kick into the box to Michael Hepplewhite who made a good turn to fire in a shot which was deflected just wide of the post. After 3 minutes Heaton moved the ball down the right and it was played inside to Jonathan Wright who fired a shot towards the top corner but Nathan Armin made a good save to tip the ball over the bar. After 6 minutes the ball was played to Luke Collins on the edge of the Heaton area and he turned well to fire in a shot which was deflected over the bar. Chester made the breakthrough after 9 minutes The ball was played into the six-yard box for Hepplewhite to turn well and fire in a shot which was blocked but the ball was not cleared and Andrew Clarkson fired home. After 13 minutes the ball was played
through to Michael Hepplewhite and he raced in an goal but keeper Jonathan Ball was quickly out to block the shot. Heaton equalised after 16 minutes when the ball was cross in from the left and when the ball was not cleared, Daniel Sayer fired in. After 27 minutes, the was was played back to Ricky Fenwick and he made a good cross to the far side for Clarkson to power in a header which brought a
good save from Ball. After 38 minutes a defensive error let in Wright but Armin was quickly out to block and then clear the ball. As half-time approached, Heaton came close to taking the lead when Joseph Kerridge saw his show crash against the bar and a header from Wright went just wide of the open goal. After 58 minutes, a ball down the right sent Wright clear but he fired well over the bar. Heaton took the lead after 67 minutes when they made a quick break down the right for Wright to
move into the box and fire in. Five minutes later, Wright found himself in a similar position but he pulled his shot just wide of the far post. After 75 minutes the ball was played over to Ricky Fenwick on the left but his long-range shot went just over the bar. After 87 minutes, Jack Brown fired in a good shot from the edge of the area but Ball made a good save to turn the ball around the post. Heaton
sealed the result in stoppage time as Wright broke clear to lob the ball into the net.
