about the team
This all-boys team joined Chester-le-Street Football Club after making the move from New Herrington St Aidan’s Team Sport FC when the club folded in 2023. Since then, the lads have continued to grow together as a team, building on the foundations they had already created and becoming an important part of our grassroots pathway.
Rizzle, the team’s goalkeeper and captain, and Evan, one of the team’s key strikers, have both been with the side from the very beginning and remain important players within the squad. The team is known for being a strong, physical side, but one that always looks to play football in the right way, with commitment, teamwork and a positive attitude at the heart of what they do.
The team is coached by Lee Hope, our Head of Grassroots Pathway here at Chester-le-Street Football Club. Lee brings a wealth of experience to the role and is a previous Durham FA Coach of the Year, helping to guide and develop the players both on and off the pitch.
